Artist Services
In late 2009, Knox Bronson changed the course of the nascent iphoneographic movement with the launch of his website, Pixels—The Art of the iPhone and the call for submissions for the first-ever juried gallery show of ”iphone photography” to open on January 30, 2010 at the Giorgi Gallery in Berkeley, California. Since that time, Knox has been the prime mover, as curator to the site, in defining the movement and shaping it into the fine art medium it is today.
He has produced juried gallery shows around the US and Europe; in 2010, Apple invited him to introduce the art form to the public in their theater stores around the country; he has been interviewed numerous times about the art form, by publications around the world, for which P1xels—The Art of the iPhone has been the crucible of its rapid evolution. He has also written extensively about the medium, the art, the technology, the curation process, individual artists, and much more on the P1xels site.
In the course of curating P1xels, he has received over sixty thousand images, as of December 2012, since its launch in late 2009 and he has paid careful attention to, and been in close contact with, the artists posting on the site: their development, growth, mistakes, strengths, and so on. As such, he has seen it all. He has worked with hundreds of artists one-on-one to refine their skills in the burnishing of images, as well as rethinking and redefining goals, and overcoming creative blockage.
Knox stresses craft, the proper choice of images, the exploration of possibility within an image, the attuning to the artist’s singular vision, and the apping of images as a form of contemplation and even meditation.
As a result, we feel it is time to offer artist services on this site, the first being portfolio reviews and consultation.
The introductory packages are as follows:
- $90 Consultation Package. Usable in 10 minute increments up to 1 hour. Valuable for specific questions to be answered by phone and/or email. This would be great for someone putting together a portfolio or curating a solo show. Naturally, a two-way communication to assist you in best achieving immediate goals.
- $120 Basic Portfolio Review. One hour review of your work and one-hour phone conversation, via Viber if outside USA.
